Branded’s Travel Trend Tracker keeps tabs on consumers’ top travel habits and their favorite destinations. The Q1 2018 Trend Tracker asked U.S. consumers where they are going on their next vacation. Our research found over half of consumers plan to take a trip in the next 12 months. When consumers budget for their vacations, they tend to save for less than 6 months.

Destinations like Las  Vegas and Florida are universally popular, but there are distinctions by generation. Millennials (age 21-38) are drawn to the beaches of Florida and California as well as the excitement of Vegas. Gen X (age 39-50) is the only generation to cite an international vacation locale in their top 5 destinations with Mexico coming in fifth. The older consumers in the Baby Boomer (age 51-69) and Silent Generation (age 70+) are more likely than younger consumers to be planning trips to Texas.
